I’m sorry, why do people think this guy is an honorable public servant?

McCain, the more you look, the worse he looks.
He seems to know very little about economics (self-confessed), science (see the autism thing), his duty as a senator, and picking advisors who can keep from saying dumb-ass things:

Think Progress » Being a senator not a ‘high priority’ for McCain.

Campaign adviser Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS) confirmed that voting in the Senate isn’t “a high priority” for McCain

Oh, and this Salon article shows how the great warrior is more worrisome than anything else.

  1. But hey – he is NOT Hillary. So he’s got that going for him. Which is nice.

  2. I agree with you on the first point.
He is, in fact, not Hillary.
However, he’s also a sham and a bastard and the one thing he’s got going for him, his military knowledge, is completely undermined by the fact that he terrifies the military.
Siobhan has a stuffed burro that is more qualified, in both personality and ethics, than John-boy

  3. Sooo…. you agree that he’s preferable to Hillary.

I would encourage Siobhan’s burro to run and would vote for him/her before I would vote for Hillary. Other preferables to Hillary:

    Dennis Kucinich’s hot wife
That guy who just cut me off in traffic
    My deceased dog
    Neil’s haircut
    A rake handle
Dude whose wife cut his member off and tossed it out the window and he later became a porn star

  4. I’m confused.
Are you saying you like Hillary?

I’ll be honest, I think all three candidates are nightmares.
IMHO, John’s just the one that makes you wet the bed.

  6. heh
He had some very good points on the daily show about how rigged the whole thing is to make sure no 3rd party candidates get in.

  8. I was kind of hoping Perot would run again, but no luck.

I bet Ron Paul runs as either a Libertarian or a Constitutionalist.

  9. I’m not sure you can make much of a case for the system being rigged (I agree that it is) when the best examples are Perot, Nader, and Paul.

The obvious retort is simply “Yes, it is rigged … against CRAZY people”

  10. 1. metaphorically wet the bed
    2. Perot always made me laugh. Ron Paul is a putz who continues this irrational dream of the free market. I wonder how he’d feel if we really pulled government intervention out. Every corporation would collapse overnight.
    3. Well, yes. We like it to be rigged a little, to keep the crazies like me out, but jeez…

  11. The Free market is fine, there would be no collapse, and you are on crack. They should stay out of the business of big business and focus on some actual problems.

  12. Lets see…
If we REALLY pulled government interference out, then the legal entity of the corporation would disappear (that legal entity having been made by…dum dum DUUUUMMMM…the government).
Once that disappeared, the owners of companies would be PERSONALLY vulnerable to lawsuits for anything that was caused by their products.
Now, you might think thats a good thing. People would be doubly careful to only put out safe, quality, reliable products.
But thats not what would happen. No one could possibly afford to take the risk that a mistake was made.

  13. I’m with moleboy (never thought I’d ever say THAT … mostly because I never thought I would know a moleboy). Ron Paul is a special kind of crazy.

  14. Well, people who keep asking for government to be removed from business are really saying “remove government from business whenever it gets in our way, but lets keep the stuff we like”.
    And who can blame them?
Its the same with teenagers when they want their parents to stop interfering and all. They definitely don’t mean to include, y’know, food and shleter as ‘interfering’.
