Dems stand up to *gasp* the epa?
Of course, it isn’t the EPA they are scared of.
The past year or so, this is how this always plays out.
The Dems pick a cause.
The Dems propose legislation.
The Republicans threaten a filibuster.
The Dems, instead of making their opponents follow through, surrender.
The Dems, even though they represent the majority, and even though the will of the people has been completely subverted, don’t tour the political talk shows and let everyone know whats happened.
Whenever these filibusters happen, the Dems should be saying NOTHING except “The Republicans are opposing the people. This is what they are doing.”

In December, EPA administrator Stephen Johnson overruled agency staff in order to reject California’s strict emissions standards for automobiles. Yesterday, House Democrats introduced legislation to overturn his decision. The EPA has “said no to the states. They’ve said no to their own scientists. They’ve said no to common sense,” said Rep. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) in a press conference yesterday. “It’s time for EPA to lead, follow, or get out of the way.”

I for one cheer Arnold on. California is largely screwed up but they do get some things right – I think this is one of them.

And this is EXACTLY the kind of thing that can revitalize the American auto industry. Chevy is saying they already have fuel cells and will be giving test cars soon.
Green=new tech=bigger market=more jobs
But, of course, much of the industry is still rather set in its ways, and so will soon go the way of the dinosaur (a giant meteor will fall on Detroit)
