All-Star Superman
I just finished All-Star Superman and I have to give it THUMBS UP. I love Frank Quitely’s art and always have, and his Luthor-with-drawn-eyebrow is a masterpiece. Together with the often brilliant, often crappy Grant Morrison, they accomplish exactly what they set out to do. They brought the strangeness, the over-the-top Superman of the 50s and 60s (when things like tiny Supermen would appear from our hero’s brow, and every other month Superman was King or President or turned into a caveman), and then applied a good helping of decent writing.
Sometimes, I really do miss super-science that defies any significant explanation but just makes you go WOW!
