Newt and Pelosi
Has it occured to you, Michelle, that perhaps Newt feels free to do the right thing, now that he doesn’t have to suck up to corporate interests? Funny, loyalty for you is so very fragile.

If, as Ms. Bachmann says, things are so good in Iraq, why are people still blowing up?
And, if she can’t read the body count, why should anyone listen to her on global warming?
Bachmann on: McCain, global warming and the media (The Political Animal)
Bachmann recalled having Christmas Eve dinner with General Patraeus, who told her Baghdad was 80% secure and that the head of the insurgency there threw in the towel, saying he wanted to live in a stable society.

Of course, it isn’t the EPA they are scared of.
The past year or so, this is how this always plays out.
The Dems pick a cause.
The Dems propose legislation.
The Republicans threaten a filibuster.
The Dems, instead of making their opponents follow through, surrender.
The Dems, even though they represent the majority, and even though the will of the people has been completely subverted, don’t tour the political talk shows and let everyone know whats happened.
Whenever these filibusters happen, the Dems should be saying NOTHING except “The Republicans are opposing the people. This is what they are doing.”
Think Progress » House Dems seek to overturn EPA on California emissions.
House Dems seek to overturn EPA on California emissions. In December, EPA administrator Stephen Johnson overruled agency staff in order to reject California’s strict emissions standards for automobiles. Yesterday, House Democrats introduced legislation to overturn his decision. The EPA has “said no to the states. They’ve said no to their own scientists. They’ve said no to common sense,” said Rep. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) in a press conference yesterday. “It’s time for EPA to lead, follow, or get out of the way.”
