Anyhow, this is sort of what I’ve been saying for a while, and points out the flaw in the GOPs stance here.
No matter how much money corporations and businesses have, they aren’t going to expand in an economy where no one can afford to buy their products.
I’m not even being critical of business here.  Only a very foolish businessman would expand production at this moment in time.
If GM suddenly got 3 billion in cash, they wouldn’t produce one extra car. 
If banks suddenly got a ton more money…oh…wait…we’ve seen that in action, haven’t we.

His (Gene Robinson) invocation was a broad endorsement of progressive Democrat priorities, going so far as saying, “Bless this nation with anger – anger at discrimination, at home and abroad, against refugees and immigrants, women, people of color, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people….Help him [Obama] remember his own oppression as a minority, drawing on that experience of discrimination, that he might seek to change the lives of those who are still its victims.”

I can only assume that, if these are progressive Democrat stances, that conservative Republican stances are the opposite. Right?
That would mean, just to be clear, that Republicans are pro-discrimination against blacks and women, for example.  And here I was thinking that they were trying to put all that behind them.
Shucks.

So, if you are a homeowner who has gotten screwed (regardless of how), you have to take personal responsibility for how you and your family are losing your home.  Obviously, you gambled and lost.

But, if you run for the Republican Nomination (which, I think we can say, is a bigger gamble), you realy shouldn’t be held accountable for your wasting of money.

Rudy, millionaire, obviously needs the money more:

Giuliani reported assets of between $18.1 million and $70.4 million. Because the FEC allows candidates to report assets within ranges, the actual value of his assets lies somewhere between those figures.

(By the way, I’m not saying that I understand the complexities of campaign finance.  Its entirely possible that this HAS to get paid off through donations.  However, I think it does illustrate a point)

No, this isn’t just a rumor.  And yes, this happened under the watch of those oh-so-patriotic members of the ChickenHawk-filled Republican Party.
Not only are they OK with sending other people’s kids off to die (Kiss my ass, Romney), but they are also OK with virtually poisoning them.

All of this happened under the watchful eyes of the Republicans who started this war. Bush let it happen. Cheney let it happen. McCain let it happen. Susan Collins and Joe Lieberman, who ran the Senate’s Oversight Committee, let it happen. They don’t support the troops. KBR didn’t fear consequences because the company’s friends were in power.

Of course, it isn’t the EPA they are scared of.
The past year or so, this is how this always plays out.
The Dems pick a cause.
The Dems propose legislation.
The Republicans threaten a filibuster.
The Dems, instead of making their opponents follow through, surrender.
The Dems, even though they represent the majority, and even though the will of the people has been completely subverted, don’t tour the political talk shows and let everyone know whats happened.
Whenever these filibusters happen, the Dems should be saying NOTHING except “The Republicans are opposing the people. This is what they are doing.”
